Biennale @ David Hall

Van Rheed was the Dutch Governor at Fort Kochi, when the Dutch ruled that part of Kochi for over 130 years. This was before British came to India and after the 140 years of Portuguese.

Long time indeed.

Van Rheed wrote Hortus Malabaricus. A journal on the flora and fauna of our coast. You should rememmber that was the time European Kings waged wars and risked their everything for a foothold on that coast where they mined "black Gold". Pepper.

Van Rheed lived in David Hall when he wrote Hortus Malabaricus.

That is the same house where Biennale hold one of its venues.
They have only books there, a collection any art lover should read. And recording of sound of revolution from all around the world.
